Faith Formation for children ages 3-10We are happy to offer three in-person options for 2026-2027 weekly faith formation classes for children ages 3-10:
SUNDAYS: St. Matthew Church, 70 Western Ave, Hampden Class in the lower level: 9:00-10:15 a.m. followed by Holy Mass at 10:30 a.m.SUNDAYS: St. Mary Campus (ASCS), 768 Ohio Street, Bangor 8:30 a.m. Holy Mass at St. Mary's Church followed by class in the lower level of the school from 10:00-11:15 a.m.WEDNESDAYS: St. Joseph Church, 531 N Main St, Brewer 3:45-5:00 p.m.

New this year! Gathered Family Sessions
Gathered Family Sessions are designed for children/youth of all ages to attend with their parents/guardians. These sessions will take place on September 13/16 (Orientation), December 6/9, January 10/13, April 4/7, and May 2/5 at four different times/locations:
- Sundays at St. Matthew Church Hall from 9:00-10:15 a.m.
- Sundays at St. Mary School Campus (lower level) from 10:00-11:15 a.m.
- Wednesdays at St. Joseph lower level from 3:45-5:00 p.m.
- Sundays at St. Joseph Hall from 5:15-7:00 p.m. (includes potluck meal with Youth Ministry during the first half hour)
Please note: there is no option to drop-off your child/youth at these five sessions.

Sacrament Formation (Age 7 or older)
The two-year preparation to receive the Sacraments of Confession, Confirmation, and First Holy Communion will be open to children in grade 2/age 7 and older beginning next fall 2027. Bishop Ruggieri shifted the minimum age from 6 to 7 as of March 2026, so there is no opportunity to begin sacrament formation this year, however Grade 1 Faith Formation is a prerequisite. Year Two candidates will continue their preparations under the previous guidelines. Please contact the Faith Formation Coordinators for more information about these changes.
